§ 15.

Seizure. (a) The Director is hereby authorized to prohibit the entrance into channels of trade of any meat or poultry products found to be unwholesome, improperly labeled or otherwise not in accordance with the provisions of this Act or the rules and regulations established hereunder. Any meat or poultry product found in channels of trade by a Department employee that is not in compliance with the provisions of this Act shall be subject to seizure and confiscation by the Department. (b) Seized and confiscated meat and poultry products shall be condemned unless it is of such character that it can be made to conform with the provisions of this Act by methods approved by the Director. Condemned meat or poultry products shall be effectively destroyed for human food purposes by the owner of the meat or poultry product under the supervision of a Department employee in such manner as the Director may prescribe.
