§ 731.11.
When the president pro tempore of the legislative authority of a village becomes the
mayor, the vacancy thus created shall be filled as provided in section 731.43 of the Revised Code , and the legislative authority shall elect another president pro tempore from its
own number, who shall have the same rights, powers, and duties as his predecessor.
